Intro to metalsmithing: Silver Wire Earrings
Discover the art of metalsmithing! In this two-hour workshop you will learn the fundamental techniques needed to design, form, and solder your very own pair of sterling silver earrings!
Guided step-by-step through the process, you will start by sketching out your ideas then measuring and cutting the wire. From there, you will learn the core skills of the craft: shaping wire, fitting seamless joints, operating a handheld torch, and flowing solder to fuse your earrings together.
No prior experience is necessary. This class is intentionally kept small to provide a supportive learning environment along with all the required tools and materials. You will leave with 1-2 pairs of silver earrings, ready to wear, along with a solid foundation in basic jewelry fabrication.
Please wear closed-toe shoes, and long hair must be tied back for proper torch safety.
